Philadelphia Eagles' Safety Malcolm Jenkins has turned his fashion sense into a business!
Jenkins liked bow ties but couldn't find any in the stores that he liked, so he decided to create them himself.
And just like that, Jenkins launched Rock Avenue Bow Ties.
"Yeah, it's literally that simple," Jenkins said.
Jenkins' company is named after the street he grew up on in Piscataway, New Jersey.
"I don't have any background in fashion. I don't have any background in design," said Jenkins.
Rock Avenue styles range from formal to the more casual. They also make ties that are reversible.
Jenkins adds, "When I'm kind of on the fence, and I don't know what I want to do, I'll switch to the reversible."
He also says he picks all the fabrics that they use, saying the fabrics are what make the ties stand out. Rock Avenue uses pin-tuck, denim, chambray and more for their ties.
"Something that when you touch it, you can feel the texture of the tie," says Jenkins.
Jenkins was asked, is the key to make it pop?
"A bow tie itself will start a conversation. Immediately when you walk in the room, there's something different about you than everybody else," he said.
