Saving with 6abc: Free coffee and donut with blood donation

Dunkin' Donuts has teamed up with the Red Cross to encourage blood donations in the month of August.

Throughout August, donors will receive a voucher for a free medium Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee and a free donut redeemable at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the Greater Philadelphia Region.

While the need for blood never goes away, blood and platelet donors do in the summer. During the summer months of June, July and August, on average, about two fewer donors give blood at each Red Cross blood drive than what hospital patients need. This could add up to more than 100,000 fewer donations during the summer.

So, while this isn't EXACTLY a freebie, it is a bonus for doing a good deed.
