NJ officials warn of marijuana-laced candy
NJ officials warn of marijuana-laced candy. Matt O'Donnell reports during Action News at 5:30 a.m. on October 30, 2017.

The New Jersey state attorney general's office is warning parents to look out for marijuana-laced candy in their children's' trick-or-treat bags.

However, advocates for legalizing the drug claim officials can't point to any evidence that's ever happened.

They say the warning is nothing more than a Halloween scare campaign.

The attorney general's office says the warning was necessary because of the similarities in packaging of some edible drugs and candy.
