The number of mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus tends to rise in late summer.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WPVI) -- The number of mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus tends to rise in late summer.

That's when we see more people infected.

Over the past few days, the Pennsylvania Health Department said two people in Montgomery County, and one in Chester County have the disease.

Officials aren't releasing exact locations.

In New Jersey, Camden and Burlington counties have also had confirmed cases.

To reduce the chances of getting a mosquito bite, be sure to use insect repellent if you are outdoors from dusk to dawn - or consider staying indoors.

And empty any standing water from flowerpots, buckets, pool covers, and pet food bowls.
