The FDA has approved the first wireless heart pacemaker.

The FDA has approved the first wireless heart pacemaker.

The Micra Transcatheter system is a self-contained device.

It's just 1-inch long, it doesn't have wires and it's implanted by a flexible tube directly into the right pumping chamber of the heart.

So there's no big incision, and no bump at the collarbone.
