The study would investigate why obese girls are less sexually active

From education to healthcare, people say our government has no shortage of important things to pay for.

So why, some say, is the US government spending a half million dollars to research this: why obese young women get fewer date than their thin friends.

The 4-year study would also investigate why overweight girls are less sexually active and why the ones that are engaging in activity are using less protection.

The grant was awarded by the National Institutes of Health.
