BOSTON, Mass. (WPVI) -- Do you have the heart of a 20-year-old, or an 80-year-old?[br /][br /]A new online tool looks at different risk factors to predict someone's "heart age."[br /][br /]Then it is compared to their real age.[br /][br /]CDC researchers, working in conjunction with cardiac experts at the Framingham Heart Study and Boston University, have created the easy-to-use " TARGET="blank" REL="no follow"]heart age calculator.[br /][Ads /][br /]Users provide a few details like their blood pressure, gender, body mass index and other information.[br /][br /]On average, three out of four adults had hearts older than their body.[br /][br /]For men, it was 8 years older.[br /][br /]Women, about five-and a-half.[br /][br /]But even if your heart is older than you, it's never too late to make a healthy change.[br /][br /]The CDC hopes people use the new tool to see their risk for heart attack or stroke and make changes to lower their risk.[br /][br /]Changes like losing weight and controlling blood pressure can help people become 'younger at heart.'[br /][br /]The tool may not come a moment too soon.[br /][br /]Heart disease is the number one killer of both genders.[br /][br /]More than 600-thousand Americans die of heart disease each year.[br /]
