PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A new cosmetic procedure known as the "knifeless necklift" has come to our area.

Many women say as they get older the skin on their neck or under their jawline starts to sag.

A local expert says in many cases, it's not enough of an issue to warrant surgery, but there is a new non-invasive option.

Action News followed one woman through the process.

53-year-old Ana Moore works as an executive host at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City. Her job includes entertaining celebrities such as L.L. Cool J, P. Diddy, Kendra Wilkinson, and even Frank Sinatra.

But over the years, she started to notice in pictures her neck wasn't as tight as it used to be. So she reached out to plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Davis.

"I just wanted something to give me a little fresher look," Moore said.

Dr. Davis suggested Fractora Lift, otherwise known as a knifeless necklift.

He says some women are caught between. They're too early for a surgical necklift, but still want something to tighten their skin.

Up until now he says other non-invasive neck procedures didn't do much.

"We've tried them all and I think this is the one that truly gives the best results," Davis said.

Here's how it works:

First, the area is numbed then radio-frequency energy is applied to the affected area.

"We're using it to go past the skin surface. We're going past that and addressing all the elastin fibers that cause things to tighten," Davis said.

He says the best results are seen within three to four weeks.

So we caught up with Ana after four weeks.

"I saw a big difference. I love it," Moore said.

"You are now seeing a better angle of her whole neck area from where her mandible connects to her neck, before it was a little sagging, it wasn't as sharp," Davis said.

"I feel confident when I wake up in the morning and I just go on my way," Moore said.

Because Ana got a higher intensity of energy, she only needed one treatment, but it can be split up into several treatments.

It can also be done on other areas of the face and body such as the jawline, abdomen and for acne scars.

It costs around $3,000.
