The beauty world is buzzing over a new product promising to erase years from your face, by attacking those bags under the eyes.

It's being called "Spanx for the eyes" because just as shapewear holds you up - so to speak - this treatment can lift your skin.

At least, for a little while.

As Dr. Naomi Lawrence of Cooper University Hospital explains, the skin of the lower eyelid is very thin.

"As you age, you lose the elasticity and that muscle layer kind of bulges out," Dr. Lawrence said.

She is among the first in the area to offer Neotensil. It takes about five minutes to apply. First the undereye is cleaned, then a thin basecoat goes over the circle.

It takes about five minutes to set up.

The two layers form an invisible mesh, which starts tightening in one hour and the results can become easily seen in about three hours.

Dr. Lawrence says even she was skeptical...until she saw similar results on doctor friends.

"It's a unique product, and may be the beginning of a whole line of products that tighten the skin," she said.

Neotensil lasts about 16 hours and it has to be taken off with a special remover.

Neotensil is only available through doctors and, while the first application should be done in the office, it can be used at home after that.

It is not cheap. It costs $500 for 50 applications.
