VIDEO: Want to be heart-healthy? Try a Mediterranean diet
Many Americans are on diets, but few are trying the one diet that's especially good for your heart.

Many Americans are on diets, but few are trying the Mediterranean diet - which has the most evidence that it's good for your heart.

It includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and fish.

And unlike older diets it is not considered low-fat, but it has lots of healthy fats such as olive oil.

"There are things in olive oil that do promote heart health and, in fact, may even reduce the risk of developing diabetes," said Dr. Steve Nissen of the Cleveland Clinic.
