Man shot leaving Strawberry Mansion takeout restaurant

STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- A man trying to get something to eat was shot several times in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia, police said.

It happened around midnight Sunday at 29th and Dauphin streets.

According to authorities, the man was leaving a takeout restaurant when he was shot multiple times.

The victim, identified as a man in his 40s, was able to get in his car and drive before police stopped to help a block away.

He was taken to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.
