Man whose burning body was found in Overbrook Park home identified

OVERBROOK PARK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have identified the man whose burned body was found in the basement of a home in the city's Overbrook Park section.

Investigators say 29-year-old Raphie Brandon, of the 7400 block of Overbrook Avenue, was shot before his body was set on fire.

Firefighters were called to a home in 7500 block of Overbrook Avenue around 3:45 a.m. Saturday for the report of a fire.

Crews found the victim's burning body in the basement.

They extinguished the fire as police were called to the scene.

Investigators initially said the victim had been stabbed repeatedly, and his hands were tied.

Police are working to determine who killed Brandon and why.
