GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Four people were killed and two other people were seriously injured in a head-on crash Sunday evening in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.

One of the drivers was identified as 53-year-old Richard Mason of Wilson Drive in Winslow Township. He was the only person in his car, a tan Toyota Camry.

The driver of the other car, a blue Toyota Camry, was also killed. He was identified as 43-year-old Panagioti Ramoundos, who also lives on Wilson Drive in Winslow Township.

Two passengers in Ramoundos' car were also killed. They are identified as 80-year-old Anastasia Ramoundos and 77-year-old Demetrious Ramoundos, both of Wilson Drive.

Additionally, two people Ramoundos' car were seriously injured in the crash. 59-year-old Jack Kalogridis, of Huckleberry Avenue in Gloucester Twp., and 74-year-old Betty Kalogridis of Parker Lane in Williamstown, are both hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The relationships between those in blue Camry have not been made public.

The crash happened near the intersection of Sicklerville Road and Dunlin Way shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday.

"It was a head-on collision. I'm not able to release yet which vehicle crossed the road," said Chief Harry Earle.

Mason was a widower who, relatives say, was on his way to a meeting when the crash occurred.

"He's such a good person, he took in rescue animals. He loved his wife, he lost her to cancer. They were also going to charities, stuff like that," said his sister-in-law, Tina Mason.

Mason and the Ramondous family lived about five blocks from each other but apparently were not acquainted.

Police did not release any further details about a possible cause of the crash, citing the ongoing investigation.
