1 dead in triple shooting in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say one man is dead and two other people were injured after a gun battle erupted in North Philadelphia.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of North 6th Street near Clearfield.

Officers arrived to find three people with gunshot wounds.

One had been shot several times. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The two other victims, both said to be in their 20's, were hospitalized with stable vital signs.

Police tell Action News they believe the three men may have been shooting at each other.

Investigators found two guns and two dozen shell casings at the scene.

Two vehicles on the block were hit by gunfire.

The investigation continues.
