1 man dead after double shooting in Wynnefield

WYNNEFIELD (WPVI) -- One man was killed and another seriously wounded in a shooting in Philadelphia's Wynnefield section.

It happened at 11 p.m. Thursday on the 5000 block of City Avenue.

Police say a 28-year-old man was shot in the torso behind a business.

He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:49 p.m.

A second victim, identified as a 31-year-old man, was also shot in the torso.

Police say he was taken by private vehicle to Lankenau Hospital in serious condition.

Officers were questioning a man in Germantown who fit the description of the gunman.

Police are investigating the motive for the shooting.
