Man sitting in car shot and killed in Port Richmond

PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- Police are looking for the suspect who shot and killed a 33-year-old man in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

The shooting happened around 4:15 a.m. Sunday on the 2100 block of East Birch Street.

Police say the victim was behind the steering wheel of a car with the motor running when someone shot through a back window more than a dozen times with an automatic weapon.

Several of those bullets struck the man in the head.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are looking for motives and suspects.
