The Eagles cleaned out their lockers on Monday.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Unlike the last day of school before summer vacation, there were no smiles Monday inside an Eagles locker room that didn't expect to become a ghost town this quickly.

Just the sad sight of guys putting their belongings into trash bags and boxes.

Quite the metaphor for the Eagles season.

And as they cleaned up, they fully realized the front office may clean house.

Many of these guys will not be back next year.

One player told Action News, this season was mentally draining.

Here are their plans for the short-term without knowing what they'll face in the long-term.

Tight End Zach Ertz: First couple weeks I think you have to get away, clear your mind because the frustrations are so strong.

Wide Receiver Jordan Matthews: It'll be good to finally just get away, reflect on it, and then have a fresh start. We got guys that are in the building, guys we know we can build around. I'm going to grow, Zach's going to grow. We really want Sam [Bradford] back because I feel like he's the guy who can really help all of us get to where we want to go. So we just got to continue to go back, figure out what we did wrong and get better at it.

Linebacker Connor Barwin: I think change is good. I'm excited. Change is inevitable. It's disappointing that we couldn't have played better for Chip [Kelly] and these coaches. But change I think is good and we'll see who they hire.
