'Wild Bill Way' honors member of World War II 'Screaming Eagles'

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The 2200 block of Winton Street in South Philadelphia is now known as "Wild Bill Way."

City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson unveiled the street sign Saturday in memory of legendary World War II veteran Bill Guarnere.

The Philadelphia native was a member of the 101st Airborne Division's "Screaming Eagles."

Guarnere was portrayed in the HBO mini-series "Band of Brothers."
