Man critical after being struck by vehicle in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle in South Philadelphia.

Chopper 6 HD was over the scene Thursday at Christopher Columbus Boulevard and Tasker streets.

Police said shortly after 5:30 p.m., the victim, believed to be a 30-year-old man, was struck by a vehicle.

The victim was rescued and transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition.

He is being described as a trauma alert, unstable vitals and not alert, police said.
