Police are investigating a stabbing inside a South Philadelphia market that sent a man to the hospital.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a stabbing inside a South Philadelphia market that sent a man to the hospital.

The incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. Monday inside the Uceta Mini Market on the 2100 block of South 6th Street.

Police say a 53-year-old man was stabbed in the face.

Medics rushed the victim to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for care. He is stable.

A suspect was arrested a short time later on the 600 block of Winton Street. Police say a weapon has been recovered.
