Police are searching for a man and woman who stole clothing from a shoe store in Southwest Philadelphia and injured an employee.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a man and woman who stole clothing from a shoe store in Southwest Philadelphia and injured an employee.

The incident took place at 8:51 p.m. on Monday, February 1 at the KicksUSA store on the 3000 block Island Avenue. Police released surveillance video on Wednesday.

Police say the couple fled the store with several clothing items and shoes.

According to police, an employee followed the two out of the store; that's when the male suspect allegedly punched the employee in the face.

The two suspects were last seen in a maroon Ford Escape.

The employee was treated at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital for minor injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 30, 5'8, wearing a black jacket and black pants.

The second suspect is described as black female, 20, with long hair, wearing a black hat, light colored shirt, and high black boots.
