A Lindenwold crossing guard was honored for putting herself in harm's way (WPVI)

A Lindenwold crossing guard was honored Wednesday night for putting herself in harm's way, to save a child from being struck by a car.

It happened on the first day of school, in September.

Carol Saler pushed the girl out of the way, and took the hit herself.

The two were able to pose for pictures, since Saler has rehabbed from her injuries.
