Donating from behind bars

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A special partnership is allowing Delaware inmates to contribute to an important cause.

The collaboration involves the state Department of Correction.

Inmates and staff can use their own money to buy prepared meals from local restaurants, with proceeds supporting the Special Olympics Delaware.

Governor Jack Markell visited the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in New Castle Monday to thank them for their donations.
