BOSTON -- A man charged in connection with the death of a New Jersey woman whose body was found burning near railroad tracks in Massachusetts has been captured in the Dominican Republic.

U.S. Marshals says 43-year-old Fernando Owens was returned to the U.S. on Thursday, two days after his arrest in the Caribbean nation. It's unclear when he will be returned to Massachusetts for arraignment. It could not be determined if he has a lawyer.

Owens, of Boston, is charged with murder in connection with the Nov. 3 death of Ashley Bortner, originally from Paulsboro, New Jersey. Her burning and bound body was found near tracks in Bridgewater, south of Boston.

Authorities believe Owens thinks the 29-year-old Bortner had something to do with his son's shooting death and the killing was retribution.
