Toll workers recognized for actions in Delaware
Employees working last week when a car smashed into a toll booth were honored

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- The employees who were working last week when a car smashed into a toll booth in Delaware were honored Tuesday.

The nine employees were recognized by Del-Dot's secretary Jennifer Cohan.

She says all of the employees jumped into action to help each other and other drivers.

On Wednesday night a car smashed into two other vehicles at the Newark Toll Plaza on I-95.

During Tuesday's ceremony the employees said they were thankful for their co-workers.

Willie Eatmon, one of the toll collectors honored, is glad none of his coworkers were seriously hurt.

"What we do is dangerous, i see these guys everyday glad everything worked out, glad I have this team behind me"

The nine employees were also given Delaware Department of Transportation Challenge Coins for their actions.

Police have charged the suspected drunk driver for causing the chain reaction crash.
