VIDEO: Man arrested for overdue VHS rental
A 2002 rental of a Tom Green movie has come back to haunt a North Carolina man.

CONCORD, N.C. (WPVI) -- Remember going to the rental store to pick out VHS tapes?

Well, a 2002 rental of the Tom Green movie "Freddy Got Fingered" has come back to haunt a Concord, NC man.

WSOC-TV reports a police officer stopped James Meyers for a broken tail-light. But when the officer checked Meyers' license, he found an old warrant charging Meyers with theft of the tape.

The officer let him take his daughter to school as long as he promised to come to the police station. Meyers told WSOC he thought maybe it was all a joke until he was put in handcuffs and taken to the magistrate's office.

The video store that rented the tape is no longer in business.

Meyers said he vaguely remembers renting the tape, but no longer has it.

He said he is hoping to have the charge dismissed.
