Police say a 19-year-old man fired shots into his girlfriend's family's home then barricaded himself in another home.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a 19-year-old man fired shots into his girlfriend's family's home then barricaded himself in another home.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday on the 3400 block of North 16th Street in North Philadelphia.

According to police, the girlfriend did not live in the house, but eight of her relatives, including some small children live in the house.

Two bullets went through a window into a bedroom where one of the male adults was sleeping.

There were no injuries reported.

The suspect, police say, fled the scene, and barricaded himself in another home on the 3300 block of Smedley Street.

He surrendered about an hour later.
