Police in New Castle County arrested a man accused of trying to steal a car, and injured two officers as he attempted to get away.

EDGEMOOR, Del. (WPVI) -- Police in New Castle County arrested a man accused of trying to steal a car, and injured two officers as he attempted to get away.

Calvin Warren, 24, is facing several charges including assault in the second degree, reckless endangering in the first degree, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and other offenses.

The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday in Edgemoor, Delaware.

Police say they attempted to pull over Warren after they suspected the SUV he was driving was stolen.

Warren then backed the SUV into the patrol car, police say. He then reportedly hit a civilian vehicle before going on to hit two more police cars.

He was eventually taken into custody.

The injured officers were taken to Wilmington Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Warren is being held at the Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $28,900 cash bail.
