A store employee tried to stop two shoplifting suspects and ended up getting stabbed multiple times.

It happened at 6 p.m. Friday at the Five Below store, located on the 1500 block of Chestnut Street in Center City.

Police say the worker chased the two women out of the store, and caught up to them at the corner of 16th and Chestnut.

That's where both suspects allegedly pulled out knives, stabbed her in her neck and back, and then ran.

The employee was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Authorities released images of the two female suspects. If you recognize either of the women, you're asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
