Firefighters battled a fire in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Three people were able to escape a late night fire thanks to a passerby in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

The fire started around 11 p.m. Saturday on the 6100 block of Magnolia Avenue.

Officials tell Action News a person driving down the street saw the fire, ran to the door and banged on it until someone answered.

Three people were inside the house and all managed to get out safely.

It took 45 minutes for firefighters to gain control of the blaze, officials say.

The Red Cross is finding temporary shelter for the residents.

Investigators are looking into the cause.
