Crash involving overturned SUV on MLK Drive in Fairmount Park

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- A crash involving an overturned vehicle is slowing traffic on Martin Luther King Drive in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

It happened at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday at Black Road.

Video from Chopper 6 HD showed a light-colored SUV lying on its side on the outbound side of the drive.

Action News is told the driver was trapped for some time and had to be removed by rescue crews.

That person was taken to an area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

All lanes of MLK Drive were shut down at the scene as medics responded and police investigated.

One lane of outbound traffic was being intermittently directed around the scene.

Inbound traffic was being detoured off at Black Road.

There was no immediate word what led to the crash.
