According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, spring is the start of feeding season for humpback whales.
They can consume up to 3,000 pounds of food per day.
During migration, humpbacks stay near the surface of the ocean.
This whale likely spent the winter in the West Indies and could be headed as far north as Greenland.
