VIDEO: University of Washington cheerleading poster removed
The University of Washington withdrew the flyer following several complaints, saying some of the details are inconsistent with the school's values.

SEATTLE (WPVI) -- The University of Washington posted an infographic with advice for any woman interested in trying out for their cheerleading squad. However instead of listing skills, it gave prospective cheerleaders requirements for their appearance.

The graphic advised women to wear "girl about town" lipstick along with "false eyelashes" and "flattering eye shadow." It discouraged women from wearing "tops or bottoms that cover the midriff" or "hair slick-backed or in a ponytail."

After an outcry from students on campus, they deleted it.

Other Do's:

And some of the Dont's:

The school has responded to the outcry. In a statement, Husky athletics officials said they created the graphic "in response to a high volume of student questions about cheer and dance team tryouts."

They explained they removed it due to, "some of the details and descriptions provided were inconsistent with the values of the UW spirit program and department of athletics."
