Chester firefighters speak out over budget cuts

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Dozens of Chester firefighters attended a public meeting Tuesday night to petition against cost-cutting measures that would directly affect them.

In order to solve the city's $16-million budget deficit, a state-appointed firm has recommended closing a fire house, and eliminating almost one-third of city firefighters.

At the meeting at Chester City Hall, former fire commissioner Jimmy Johnson spoke out against the proposal.
