PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- There was a sound of new hope for the new season as Eagles fans filed into the Linc for open practice Sunday.

"There's a lot more optimism this year. This is the first time I've ever been down here, and I've lived in this area for 65 years," said Carl Breithaupt of Ardmore.

Joey Saunders of Belmont, New Jersey, tells us he thinks the Eagles are going to be good this year, "because they got Wentz."

"He got out there, swung the ball a lot, moved out of the pocket real well, took some hard hits, obviously it cost him a little bit," said Chris Piazza of Gilbrtsville.

Still, Piazza says he's no more optimistic about this season than last year.

"Now that chip's out, I'm a little bit better, but we'll see," said Piazza.

"Out with the old, in with the new," said Terrell Dollahide of Dallas, Texas.

Jordan Berman of Havertown tells us he isn't too worried about Wentz's injuries.

"It's a hairline fracture. I'm not too worried right now, it's early in the season," said Jordan Berman of Havertown.

"We're always hopeful, but I think this year with a new coach, we're really... and Carson Wentz. We're ready for a change," said Gabriella Breithaupt of Ardmore.

"Any change in the right direction hopefully will bring a more successful year," said Roderick Green of Mays Landing.
