Police have arrested a man in connection with a home invasion and a robbery in Northeast Philadelphia.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have arrested a man in connection with a home invasion and a robbery in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday along the 2000 block of Oakmont Street.

According to police, the intruder broke through the front door of a home.

The intruder then struggled with the home owner, and hit him in the head with a gun, police say.

A shot was fired into the floor.

The suspect then ran off, but police caught up with him nearby.

Around the same time, a woman reported a robbery on the 7400 block of Large Street.

Police say she positively identified a 19-year-old man, and the purse that was taken.

The suspect is identified as Quamir Harper.

He is facing several charges including aggravated assault and robbery.
