Police in Lower Merion, Montgomery County came to the rescue of a deer that found itself stuck in a fence.

Animal Control Officer Ed Boegly arrived on the scene, finding the deer helpless between the black metal posts of the fence.

Officer Boegly jumped into action, grabbing a saw and worked to remove a section of the fence.

After a few minutes, the deer was able to wiggle out, and Carrie Gross Pestronk captured the moment on video as the deer galloped away.

On their Facebook page, Lower Merion Police on Friday named Officer Boegly their Hero of the Day!

Nice work, Officer Boegly!
