2 women struck, critically injured in Center City Philadelphia

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Two women are hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in Center City Philadelphia.

It happened at 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 11th and Market streets.

Police say the victims, ages 22 and 27, were crossing 11th Street when they were hit by a white Dodge pickup truck.

Medics rushed both women to Hahnemann University Hospital, where both underwent surgery.

The driver did stop at the scene, and was taken into custody for questioning.

There was no immediate word if that person will face charges.
