Study: Dad's important to reading, too

A new study shows the impact fathers can have on their kids by simply reading to them.

Most parenting classes focus on mothers. But a study in New York, framed as a reading program for preschoolers, found children with fathers involved in the program had bigger improvements in behavior and learning development.

The program also stressed using positive reinforcement to reward good behavior and distraction to discourage negative behavior.

The fathers say that also helped in other situations with their kids.
