A family got an unexpected delivery at a Southern California post office.

Vanessa Prado was in labor and on her way to the hospital in Mira Mesa Thursday morning when she realized she couldn't make it.

Her husband called 911.

And pulled into a post office parking lot.

Within minutes two police officers were there and helped deliver baby Pierce - three weeks ahead of schedule.

Prado says, "After he said he got him, I couldn't even go to grab him, I was just so relieved that the pain was over."

Mom and baby were rushed to the hospital and are doing well.
