It's Fitness Friday and one local yoga studio is offering a class some say is yoga for non-yogi's.

It's a little yoga, a little strength training and even some cardio. You get a full body workout in 60 minutes.

It starts like a traditional yoga class, but don't get too comfortable in child's pose.

Because inside Yoga Sculpt at CorePower Yoga on Walnut Street, it's not just the room temperature that's rising.

After a quick warm-up, the music is turned up and so is the intensity.

You'll be working with weights and boosting your heart rate with short cardio bursts.

Patsy and Graham Pitcairn started coming to Yoga Sculpt six months before their June 2016 wedding to get in shape for the big day.

"We saw some really great results, I never felt better at our wedding and now we try to come to maintain it," said Patsy.

Studio Manager Christie Klache says two sets of weights are used - a lighter to intensify yoga postures and a heavier for a strength series.

"For instance, lunges, squats, bicep curls, we incorporate all of that as well," she said.

Graham admits he dreads a lot of workouts, but not this one because it's fast-paced with fun music and a full body workout.

"You leave feeling completely exhausted so it feels like a good investment for a one hour workout," he said.

But some yoga purists criticize, saying this isn't real yoga.

Klache says it's a different class, offering it's own unique regimen.

"The thing with Yoga Sculpt is, it's it's own beast, for sure," she said.

This is just one class at Core Power Yoga. They also offer other more traditional yoga classes.

Sessions cost about $22 to $25 dollars.
