The search is underway for the person who opened fire from a car into a chinese restaurant in Germantown leaving a teenager critically injured.

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- An 18-year-old man is in critical condition following a drive by shooting in the city's Germantown section.

The shooting happened just after 3:00 p.m. Saturday along the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue.

Police say the gunman opened fire on a restaurant, striking the victim, who was inside, multiple times.

He is listed in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Police say the gunman fled in a Hyundai Santa Fe with a burgundy top and gray bottom.

A woman was driving, police said.

The car was last seen eastbound on Ashmead Street.
