Police: Suspect shot after pointing gun at resident in Tacony
Police say a 26-year-old suspect was shot in the face after an altercation inside an apartment in Philadelphia's Tacony neighborhood.

TACONY (WPVI) -- Police say a 26-year-old suspect was shot in the face after an altercation inside an apartment in Philadelphia's Tacony neighborhood.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 6100 block of Hegerman Street.

Officers arrived to find the man with a gunshot wound.

According to police, a 29-year-old man opened his door to find the suspect pointing a gun in his face.

A struggle then occurred between the two men.

A 21-year-old man who was a friend of the victim, heard the noise and went to a second floor apartment to get a gun.

That man shot the suspect in the face.

The suspect was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in critical condition.

The victims say they don't know why the suspect came to the apartment.

Police are investigating.
