Sandra Henry Davis describes her son, Jamil Henry, as a typical 26-year-old.

"He was a very happy, exciting kid. He built a lot of friends. He was never trouble. He just enjoyed his life to the fullest," said Davis.

On Nov. 16, 2016, Henry planned a birthday party for himself at the Woodbine Catering and Night Club along the 1400 block of Route 73 in Pennsauken, Camden County.

"From what I hear, he really enjoyed his night. They said he danced all night," said Davis.

But she says that mood turned just after 2 in the morning.

She says officers were breaking up a fight in the parking lot when gunshots could be heard from the other side of the building.

"When the people came out, they thought it was fire crackers, you know, they didn't know it was a shooting," said Davis.

Henry had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died several hours later.

"I just need somebody that was out there to please, please, I need justice for Jamil. Jamil didn't deserve this at all. He did not deserve this," said Davis.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 215-546-TIPS.

"I'm going to find my son's killer. My son was taken away from me too soon," said Davis.
