Work began Monday on an "Extreme Makeover" on a North Philadelphia high school

NORTH PHILADELPHIA -- Work began Monday on an "Extreme Makeover" on a North Philadelphia high school.

School's superintendent Dr. William Hite picked up a sledgehammer, and made one of the first holes in the walls at Murrell Dobbins CTE High School on Lehigh Avenue.

Also on hand for the groundbreaking was Mayor Jim Kenney.

Once finished, the 35 million dollar project will help the school double in enrollment.

It's expected to be completed by 2019.
