Gail Wehmeyer of Montgomery County was at work when she received a call from the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I couldn't believe it. It was just unbelievable," Wehmeyer said.

Gail was handpicked by the team for a very important job.

On Thursday night at the NFL Draft, she will hand the jersey for the newest Eagle to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

By day, Gail works at Thunderbird Lanes in Northeast Philadelphia. But on Sundays, you can find her at Lincoln Financial Field.

She's been an Eagles season ticket holder since 1961.

"My dad got tickets after the 60 championship and the first game my mom went. You had to walk all the way around the stadium to get up into the bleachers and my mom went the first game, didn't like all that walking and the bleachers, so I started going after that," Wehmeyer said.

She wears the proof of her longtime loyalty with a custom jersey that reads "STH Since 61" on the back.

"It says season ticket holder since 61 and now I get people tapping on my shoulder saying 'I've been going since 68. I've been going since 70.' So I meet a lot of people at the game," Wehmeyer said.

Gail's commitment to the Eagles and her community is why her daughter Laura Hunsicker recommended her to the team.

That earned her the draft honor along with a trip to the NovaCare Complex where she met quarterback Carson Wentz.

And now, more than five decades since Gail's first game, the Eagles are still a family affair, as her daughter points out.

"We do the Eagles as a family and hoping to continue it with my kids and my sister's kids," Hunsicker said.
