Former Philadelphia teacher sentenced for sex with student

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A former Philadelphia teacher has been sentence after she pled guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old student.

Stephanie Amato, 30, met the student when she taught 8th grade at Ethan Allen Elementary School in Mayfair.

She was accused of having sex with the student at her home and in her car on multiple occasions.

A judge has ordered her to spend between 11-point-5 months and 23 months in prison.

Upon her release she must register as a sex offender.
