Police say two men were shot and injured following an attempted robbery in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say two men were shot and injured following an attempted robbery in North Philadelphia.

The incident started around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday on the 3000 block of Germantown Avenue.

The victims told police they were stopped in their car when a man with a gun approached them on the passenger side window and demanded money.

The passenger says he tried to grab the gun when he was shot in his hand.

That same bullet hit the driver of the car in his hip.

The victim managed to drive and park the car on the 1200 block of West Atlantic Avenue.

Both victims walked to the Temple University Hospital emergency room.

They are in stable condition.

Police are checking the area surveillance cameras for answers.
