UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- One student has been released from the hospital and two others have been charged following a fight on the campus of Drexel University.

Junlin Ye, 19, and Pu Wang, 23, both of the 2200 block of Ben Franklin Parkway, have been charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Conspiracy, Simple Assault, and related offenses.

The incident happened at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of Race Street in the University City section of Philadelphia.

Police sources say it was a fight over a girl. They say six students were outside Myers Hall, a residence hall on Drexel's campus, when the fight started.

One of the students, identified as 20-year-old Wang Xiadong, was stabbed in the back. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was treated and released.

A police source says the wound was superficial and did not require stitches.

Action News has learned that the victim and the two suspects are all from China studying here in the U.S.

Drexel University police were on the scene quickly and took the two suspects into custody.

The University released a brief statement Wednesday morning acknowledging the incident.

A spokesperson said the school will have nothing more to say about how it is handling the situation.
