2 suspects sought in armed robbery in North Philadelphia

Police are looking for a pair of suspects who robbed a grocery store at gunpoint in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are looking for two armed suspects who robbed a grocery store in North Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

It happened inside the Lion Grocery store located on the 200 block of West Wensley Street.

The pair were caught on surveillance entering the store around 1:30 p.m.

One suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the clerk while the second suspect acted as a lookout.

The duo got away with an unknown amount of cash and fled in a white 4-door vehicle, possibly a Nissan Maxima with a sunroof.

They were last seen heading south on American Street.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 6'0 tall with a medium build and complexion and thick beard. He was wearing a knit hat with "looser" written on front, black jacket, blue jeans, and armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and dark complexion. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with "Nike 72" written on front, blue jeans, and black & white sneakers.
